About The Artist
ElSIE
Singer-Songwriter
Hailing from Columbia, Mississippi, Elsie is a force in country music. The middle child of six, she found her voice early—first behind a piano at her father’s church at twelve, then through songwriting at seventeen, weaving together country, pop, soul, and gospel into a sound all her own.
In 2018, she made history, becoming the first African American and first Mississippian to win the largest country music competition in the nation, The Country Showdown, earning the title Best New Act in Country Music. But just as her career was gaining momentum, Elsie stepped away from the spotlight to focus on family. Now, she’s back—and stronger than ever.
With “Ghetto Cowboy” and “Forgiveless,” Elsie isn’t just releasing music—she’s delivering a new standard for storytelling in country. Her voice is magnetic, her pen is fearless, and the industry is paying attention. BET honored her in its 45th-anniversary Future of Black Culture series, and Rissi Palmer named her to the Color Me Country Class of 2025—clear signs that her influence is rising fast.
As she gears up for new releases, one thing is undeniable: Elsie isn’t making a comeback. She’s breaking barriers, shifting the landscape, and carving her place in country music history.
